Zone Auto-shunt count is used to prevent the alarm from being triggered too many times by a single zone activation.

When the security system is armed, a window or door opening will cause the alarm to be triggered, and will dial to all the programmed numbers. However if there is a fault on the zone, say by a faulty magnetic contact or a swinging door, which keeps opening and closing, the alarm will be triggered many times and will cause the phones or the CMS (Central monitoring station) to be called many times.
The Zone auto shunt count prevents this by preventing the alarm from getting retriggered if the same zone gets triggered by the number of times specified.

If the Zone auto shunt count is 3, that means that if the same zone gets triggered 3 times in succession, the alarm will not be triggered again after that. This is reset if another zone gets triggered or the system is disarmed
