I am having an unusual and annoying problem with Comfort Ultra II. The system has been stable but suddenly out of the blue it has become unstable.
Comfort is stable for periods of about 5 or 6 hours after programming but without doing anything and of its own motion Comfort displays either \"Phone Trouble Controller\" or \"Door Station 1 Communication Failure\" on the Keypads. I do not have any Door Stations and Phone line monitoring is disabled as I do not connect any phone.
Interestingly, Comfort seems to reset itself to a base state (as the log in ID reverts to \'1234\'). I have battery back-up to both the main board and the slave. The download button on each of the UCM\'s is free and clear of any obstruction and have not been pressed.
I have the following UCMs - USB, Serial, Ethernet, Z Wave and GSM. I use the UCM/USB for programming.
Any suggestions?

An update:
I removed all UCMs from the panel - they are physically laying separately on my bench. Nothing is touching any Dwnload button.
I re-connected the UCM/ GSM and UCM/ USB and reprogrammed Comfort for only these 2 modules. All was stable overnight.
This morning I reconnected the UCM/ZWave and UCM/Serial and reprogrammed. All was stable for about 5 hours when Phone Trouble Controller error was called and the problems reverted as stated above. I have now removed the UCM/Serial but left the UCM/ZWave attached and reprogrammed.
Lets see how this reacts.

Further update. Same problem \"Phone Trouble Controller\" occurred this afternoon. Therefore, in further search of the source of the problem, I removed the UCM/ZWave and inserted the UCM/Serial and reprogrammed again. All okay, so lets wait and see again.
Interestingly, the UCM/ZWave does NOT have ANY Download button to be pressed or otherwise touched accidently as has been suggested above.

Further update. Comfort has been stable overnight so it looks like the issue is caused by the UCM/ZWave. This UCM has no download button although there is a NVM chip in the U2 socket.
I suppose the next course of action is to remove the NVM in the U2 socket and reconnect?

I suggest you connect the UCM/Zwave and test again
The NVM in Zwave should not be removed as the UCM/Zwave will not work without it. That NVM does not hold any information on Comfort programming and cannot be responsible for defaulting to the default program

OK but it does seem that the other UCMs are not causing it either given the results outlined above.
Meanwhile, thanks for your continued support.

Afraid the problems are still there. I will send you PMs on this topic.

Well after extensive testing - the problem seems resolved.
After various different combinations, I removed the NVM from the UCM/Ethernet card and all seems right again. All UCMs are reconnected.
The problem must have been as suggested by Cytech in an earlier post - however - this particular UCM is located out of the way so its a real mystery as to how the Download button was pressed!
Anyway, how do I reprogramme the UCM so it can be returned to the UCM?
