I currently have a Comfort II system with the following additional components:

1 x LEM03
1 x KP04 Keypad
1 x UCM05/232
7 x PIR

I am planning to (eventually) add the following:

1 x UCM/Universal
1 x UCM/GSM3
1 x UCM/ZWAVE3

Will I need to provide these with separate power or will the standard Comfort supply cope?

The Comfort has a combined continuous current limit of 1A for both switched and un-switched auxilary supplies, and 8 outputs.

I don\'t how much current has been drawn by the 7 PIRs (gotta see the PIR spec) but I estimate it to be near the Comfort\'s current limit, taking into consideration the KP04, UCM05 and LEM03 together.

So it will be better if there is another separate power supply for your future modules.

I have my comfort running 13 pir\'s 2 keypads and 2 ucm\'s if thats an indication. Never looked at the pir load, I might check into it a bit further now that the topic has been raised :-)

The average pir draws 10 ma with it rising by 2-4 ma in alarm
a good rule of thumb is use the comfort psu for the keypads/ucms
and a seperate psu for pirs etc
That way you will always have enough power now and for expansion later

Actually

On the topic, would it be possible to get a list of the power consumption of the various comfort modules so that a load calculation could be done ?

I did start to go through a few manuals to get the info but not all the manuals give load! Would cytech have a handy list ?
