Comfort and Boiler / Heating control

I am using Scs switches for activities voting heating as well as the iphone app. I have a 3 zone oil fired heating system, and also a stove with back boiler. Comfort knows when the back boiler is on and works the heating accordingly. The programming is pretty straight forward as the implementation is not complex and to be honest does not use the hardware to its fullest extent.

The Scs switches have temp sensors on them so I can tell what the temp is in each room. I havmt implemented any temperature based heat control however, purely for the reasons stated above, I can\'t figure out an easy way for user input to change temp settings

Do you have any UCM interfaces to third party devices...IF so

Use for example a KNX room controller GIRA or JUNG these will give you mode operation and inbuilt timers etc. CBUS also sell a room stat but many years ago we ended up sorting out a couple of Schneider heating projects only to find that the temperature sensors were not calibrated properly so have not touched since -

How about the KT03 expensive as a room option.

Or how about the SCS - use the two top buttons to alter the set point - up or down (comfort could announce on keypad!)
then use the next keys to alter to day away night or vacation (basically just different temperature variations on the set point. Hey presto I\'ve just created a heating control. !!!!! not

I have a velbus interface. They have a temp controller which I was thinknig I could use, but if I do, the result would be taking control away from comfort.

The velbus temp controller takes readings from velbus temp sensors, so I would need to add these (even though my scs have comfort temp sensors in them).

If I could get the velbus controller to read from comfort (or for comfort scs to be able to send out velbus temp readings), then this would be part of the solution, but still an overall miss/mash of a solution,where comfort does some stuff,vbelbus does other stuff, but no overall way to control and set temp values easily.

Yep, way too pricy, especially when you would prob need about two of them.

Yeah, that could be done, but not really what you could call a user friendly setup,not WAF friendly either, so probably not a runner.

Another solution would be to get 3 standard analog room thermostats and wire them to 3 inputs, and use them as temp controlers. Would work, but then makes the scs\'s I have redundant apart from being basic on/off/input devices.


What comfort actually needs at this stage (in my humble option), is the following:-

1) An input device that plugs into the comfort bus
2) That can be used to input directly to counters and timers specific values and times.
3) A heat control module in comfigurator which allows users to flag devices and sensors, link them together (for example link a heat sensor(velbus or comfort scs say) to a heating zone (be it an x10,knx,velus relay etc) and build up heating scenarios etc.

The input device, and the comfigurator module therefore would be protocol independent (leting comfort control the relay, or read the sensor, whether it be velbus, scs,knx etc).

I have a combi boiler, theoretically I can change the programmer and/or thermostat to a z-wave (or similar) enabled one.
I don\'t yet have a comfort system (moved into this house last week) but heating control is quite high on the priority list. It seems I want to achieve the same as others here: adjusting the temp dependant on alarm mode

Comfort / cytech system and the support offered from teams is second to none. I have been building my system bit and they always help.

I think I have my final solution which is:

Replace main thermostat and in my case programmer with a heatmiser thermostat. I believe the next ucm cytech is working on is heatmiser and shpuld be avalible over the commimg months..

I will then replace some rad stats with the danfross z-wave rad stat, the with a bit of clever programming I have the solution I set out to achieve.

Hi All,

Heatmiser working well.

I have just taken deliver of 3 danfoss rad valves. My main controller (z-stick 2) detects the thermostats and uploads the info into the cytech z-wave ucm. Unfortunately it look like I can\'t send or receive info from comfort.

The danfoss seems to have a signal and bell light flashing which I believe is called panic mode in danfoss terms, and indicates the thermostat is not part of the network. Not sure, but this could be a known fault looking at other fourms not too clear to be honest.

I have ordered a new z-wave controller zrc-100 as I only have trial z-wave softwarefor the aeon labs usb device... to see if I can conrtol the danfoss stats from that.

Just woundered if anyone else had any luck with danfoss living connect z-wave thermostats and comfort. If so what did you use to make it work and has it been reliable?
