Animal mode
#1
How do I know if my Comfort alarm has a built in animal mode? And if not how to enable it or disable a particular zone.

Thanks

\"animal mode\" sounds like fun setting for the house instead of plain Away and Night modes

I think what you mean is you want to arm the system with pets in the house
This is more of a function of the PIRs - there are \"pet immune \" PIRs which detect only objects of a certain size,  and PIRs which have a field which detects only above a certain height

The alarm system itself is not able to distinguish pets

Big Grin animal/pet, yes.

I guess it\'s a case of getting the pet in and seeing whether it triggers the alarm.

Is it easy to disable a particular zone (can you tell I have absolutely no idea what I am doing :?)

You can Bypass a zone using the keypad by pressing F1 and selecting the zone number

You can also use a Response to bypass and unbypass  a zone, this can be triggered by Time Programs or by a mechanical switch when you let the pet loose

You can select a Zone Type for the PIR which is not active in a selected mode, eg Away, Night, Day to partially arm the system

I did something like this, where I can set the utility room pir to bypass by a button on the Scs switch. The button gives an led status on it, and when the system is disarmed again when someone comes home, it automatically removes the bypass for the next time it is re armed.

It means that the pir is always enabled except when specifically disabled just before you arm the system
