LEM 03 with slaves
#1
Hi,
I am currently in the process of adding a third slave and a velbus system to my current comfort system, although I programmed my basic set-up I am very apprehensive about these next stages and will a lot of support over the coming months!
The first basic question I have is, when I was looking into purchasing the slave unit I read that if you are going to add slaves to a system and a LEM, do not use a LEM03 as they will not work on a system with slaves. I purchased a LEM 02. My second slave has a LEM 02. However when I have gone to connect the KA and KB connection to my main board I noticed that has a LEM03 with it. Is this correct? If not how has my system been working fine over the years?
Thanks,
Chris.

Hi Chris,

How many Input/Zones do you need?
There are 3 types of LEMs:
1. LEM01-M2 has 8 inputs and 8 outputs.
2. LEM02-M2 has 8 inputs with no outputs. This is the same as the LEM01-M2 without the OP01 output drive module. The LEM02-M2 can be transformed into the LEM01-M2 by plugging in a OP01.
3. LEM03 has 16 inputs and no outputs. With the LEM03 connected to Comfort, no Slaves can be added, because the inputs 17 to 24 are the same as the Slave\'s. Thus the total capacity of the system becomes 24 inputs and 8 outputs.

Since LEM03 only have 16 Inputs without any outputs. I suggest you change the LEM03 to LEM02 if you need a slave or more.

Thanks,
Yuanchang

Also check this post as a LEM03 limits the use of Slaves due to address overlapping.

If you have a LEM03 connected to your main board, perhaps if you did not use the zones 17 to 24 on it, and did not check the LEM03 box, there may not have been any conflict with the zones on the Slave

OK thanks for the replies. I have changed my LEM03 to a LEM01M2 and now have 2 slaves.
