Measure the 12V voltage at the ketypad, It could be there is too much voltage drop along the wires to the keypad which leads to too low voltage at the keypad to power the keypad. if the votage is still 12V and power off and on ddoes ot do any good then it should be time to replace with KP04A or KP05A. KP04A and KP05A have the same fnctionality but are better than KP04

Thanks for the reply. I will put a testmeter on the voltage, but as it has worked flawlessly for 2 years I think it unlikely.

Contacts do become oxidised and create bad contact regardless of how long it has been working for previously.

Indeed they do - but I cleaned them! I also took out the wires and redid them. I have ordered a repalcement keypad.

New keypad installed (KP04A) and all working again. Thank you for the advice.
