Where to install UCM's?

I was just wondering where the best place is to install the following:

1 x UCM/Serial

1 x UCM/CBus

1 x Ringer Module (RG/2)

1 x LEM8/8

The box seems to be a bit small if I want to fit a battery in as well. Any ideas where to mount all these?

The UCMs are connected to the internal RS485 bus so they can be mounted away from Comfort and close to the connected devices eg CBus or PC

The LEM is connected to Comfort by a short flat cable. If you are using Comfort II, the LEM01-M2 can be mounted on top of the Comfort PCB

The RG/2 - Is this a Comfort I system. Comfort II Ringer is RGR04, and that also can be mounted on top of the Comfort PCB

The standard Comfort enclosure has mounting locations for UCMs and LEMs. If the one that you have is full you can purchase another empty enclosure

If you have just bought your system it should be Comfort II Ultra?

What is the serial UCM used for? If its just used to upload/download, then perhaps you might not need to include it inside the enclosure.

I mounted the LEM and the ringer on the existing board and will mount the CBUS UCM in the provided holes. I agree that the serial can be mounted when needed but initially I\'ll stick it in one of the slave boxes - it should work right?

Oh, and yes, it\'s the Ultra II with three slaves.

Three slaves .... sound as though it may be an interesting configuration?

You can think of the bus like a root system. Fan out or daisy chain using any combination of the blue blocks or white IDC connector.

Larger case should be soon and I have asked if any future change to the small case could allow 2 UCMs to stack.

Hmm... nothing special yet... It\'s a big installation with CBUS. This is my pet project and will probably grow into something special over time and possibly be a reference point for my customers to see what can be done.
