Sunrise/Sunset Times and Daylight Saving

Comfort firmware 5.121 and above will have Sunrise/Sunset times which
are downloaded from Comfigurator 2.2.3 based on your location, city or
coordinates. There will be a Sunrise and Sunset Response which can
perform actions at the correct times, and a Night Flag is set after
sunset to allow checking by other actions. This takes into account
Daylight Saving time. In fact, Comfort will automatically adjust the
clock for Daylight saving time on the correct days, eg Last Sunday of
October and April, or the appropriate dates in other countries.

I can see the \"Night time\" flag under Actions, IF, system parameters but where are the sunrise and sunset responses?

Also you mention DST, I assume this now means that I no longer have to have a timer program to check the date etc. Comfort will change automatically?

Our changes are ahead of Comfigurator. The Misc Events for Sunrise and sunset are not added in yet. That will be in the next interim release. In the meantime, you will have to use the Locations Menu in Engineer Menu 7,4,3 to enter these values

Sunrise and Sunset Responses have been implemented in Comfigurator 2.2.3, in Events > Misc Events

Also do I still have to test if we are in DST or not? Or will Comfort now update its clock automatically?

The Locations are
For Sunrise - 776 for the Lower Byte of the Response Number and 777 for the Higher byte of the Response  number
For Sunset - 778 for Lower byte Response number and 779 for theh higher byte of Rresponse number
The Locations are 8 bits which is why you need two locations to enter a Response number

eg if you want to enter Response 260 into Sunrise Response,
Location 776 = 4
Location 777 = 1
1 x 256 + 4 = 260

Engineer Menu 7,4,1  announces \"Enter Location and # key\"

Comfort will adjust its clock automatically for Daylight saving on the appropriate day at 3 AM, you will not have to do it

Any reason why 3am ?

 

Strictly speaking, UK clocks change at 1am on the day.

 

 

Also, the old timer program which ran twice a year for DST adjustments - we no longer need this correct ?

3 AM was just chosen as a quiet time when nothing much should be happening
Different countries have different times for the change anyway
The old Response which was used in the Time Programs must not be ised now as that would cause an additional change
