clearing alarms via IP
#1
Good day,

We are a home automation company based in London and we are controlling our client´s Comfort alarm system using an AMX system to
communicate over its IP interface.

We have 2-way comunication. We can request and recieving messages and can
set or unset the system (after entering the axcess code) unfortunatly we
cannot cancel alarms only turn the whole lot on or off.

We have the documentation with the serial communication commands, but it
does not appear to be any command to clear an alarm and remove it from the
Comfort system.

Whenever we arm the system, it starts giving all the alarms that were
triggered at any point, such all the smoke alarms, so when we arm the
system, we can know who has been smoking at any room.

Using the cpmfort system\'s keypad alarms can be canceled...but we have
been unable to do so using the protocol.

Thanks in advance for your help
Kind regards

Comfort and AMX or Crestron is used together in many installations

The M! command can be used to disarm as well as arm Comfort

M! - Security Mode Change
PC:     M!sscccccc    Command to change Security Mode
UCM:    OK
UCM:     MDss        mode change report
ss is the security mode
00 = Security Off
01 = Away Mode
02 = Night Mode
03 = Day Mode
04 = Vacation Mode

M!00cccccc will disarm to Security Off where cccccc is a valid 4 to 6 digit user code

If you use a fixed code in the command,  if the user changes the code, then the command wil not work. Hence it is best to have a screen where the user enters his code before disarming

You can also use the KD command which simulates keypad keys

KD - Keypad Key Entry
PC:     KDKK

This enters a digit just like a keypad. The command allows the UCM to be a keypad to sign in and access the voice menus or short cut function keys. The speaker and microphone will act like the ones on a keypad.
kk key values: 00 to 09, 0A = \"F\" key 0B = *, 0C = #, , 0D = \"AWAY\", 0E = \"NIGHT\", 0F = \"DAY
F key         = 0ah
# key         = och
* key         = 0bh
Enterkey     = 1ah    /* like # key but will not go into menu, disarm only  */
Endkey         = 1bh    /* END key to exit keypad menu  */

You can show a keypad on the touchscreen and let the user enter his code to disarm the system. Use the Enter key 1B hex to enter the code, as this prevents the system from going into the user menu like a normal keypad

Hi  working with a colleague we have successful integrated  Control4 with comfort,
We can perform the login, alarm modes changes etc., however using the F key and a number  to go to a menu is not functioning ,  we are using the guide supplied on the old thread above  , do you have a change of commands ?
Thanks in advance

How is the F key not working to get into a menu?
Are you trying to get voice on the menu?

Wjat version of comfort and UCM are you using?

Hiya
We are using a serial UCM  5.13  And comfort outside 4.222
When we send a F , command followed by say number 3 to get into the menus  we get no response , we can confirm that the correct code is begin sent ,
However If  we put comfort into a menu , sending a F command will end the menu .

F3 on the keypad is the Test Menu. What it does is to play the Test Menu on the \"keypad\",  and then waits for a key press, but I suppose you do not have any voice on the AMX device connected to Comfort. so you would not hear anything
If you send a key 4 after F3 which does the siren test, you should hear the siren turn on

 Then again your comfort is version 1 and UCM is also very old so I am not sure if all these commands have been implemented on these versions

Hiya
We have tried all the F and numbers  combinations , no voice or any operation is performed ,
Its strange that the F  send from our system will  only cancel the menu in operation on comfort , and not go into a menu

When sending a F key and number combination we recieve BP04 on the serial port .

BP04 means the Long Beep that you hear on the keypad when you press the key and another keypad using the voice menu. Only 1 keypad can have voice at a time. Your other keypads could be in the voice menu. Try pressing F3 on a real keypad. If you hear a long beep that is the same thing

Are you trying to get voice on the AMX? F3 is the security menu by default

Hi thanks for that, we are trying to get voice out of the real comfort key pad ( not the UCM )
Or to activate a menu on comfort, using the F and a combination number
We are suing only on real comfort key pad and sending command via the ucm and a control4 touch screen
