CWM Supply problem

Distributors have been informed of this
We currently are out of stock of the CWM. The manufacturer of the embedded webserver module which we designed the product around informed us that they had already stopped production of the module, without giving us any notice!!!!! (This is a German company) This has left us without sufficent stock. We now need to develop the product again around another hardware platform. This may take months.

Please do not sell or plan to buy it for your own projects until we announce the new product is ready.

Hi,

One thing that slightly confuses me about Comfort is that you need a UCM/Ethernet  to be able to programme Comfort over Ethernet (LAN),  and a seperate CWM for web access. If ACe Server etc can use the UCM/Ethernet why can\'t we have webserver access to the same base hardware (perhaps with a small hardware \"top-up\")?

I appreciate the latter has an embedded Unix/java based web server capability but to me it would be nice to have ONE module that interfaces via ethernet and allows me to both programme and access the system over Intranet/Internet.

Is there anyway you can make this new CWM an add-on to the UCM/Ethernet to give us a more cost effective upgrade path. 

It seems strange to me to need to have 2 ethernet connections from Comfort to the LAN to be able to cover both requirements or have I completely missed the point?

The CWM allows Comfigurator programming. There is a TCP Pass through port, ie a different port from the http port for web access that you can specify which allows communications from the network. This is documented in the webserver manual http://www.cytech-technology.com/temp/manuals/cwmman.pdf

It is not possible to \"add on\" a webserver to the UCM/Ethernet as the two bits of hardware are completely different. The UCM/Ethernet is basically a serial to Ethyernet convertor and the CWM is a complete embedded PC

However take note that the CWM will not be available for several months due to the announced supply problem
