The File menu is shown below.
New
Create a new configuration from a blank template
Select the Comfort Model, (usually Comfort II Ultra or Comfort II Optimum).
Open
Open a saved cclx file
Restore from Backup
Restore a previous version of the cclx file from backup location. The dialog box will ask for the file name and backup date. Whenever a file is saved Comfigurator automatically backs up the file with the date of backup, so that old versions can be restored.
Save
Save the current program as a cclx file. Comfigurator automatically backs up the file with the date of backup, so that old versions can be restored (see Restore from Backup)
Save As..
Save the current program as another filename, or a Template (*.cctx) or a Comfort 1 .ccl file
Convert File System..
This converts the current program to another Comfort Models File system.
This is used when a system has been upgraded eg from Comfort 1 to Comfort 2, or from Optimum to Ultra, so that the new system does not need to be reptogrammed.
Convert cclx file for Android/iOS App
This starts the browser and opens the iOS/Android Upload page for the cclx file to be converted into a format that can be read by the iOS or Android apps as an email attachment. see http://www.comfortforums.com/forum110/3864.html for android, and http://www.comfortforums.com/forum122/4007.html for iPhone.
Import..
3 Options are available
- IFR Files - Import IFR files for Infrared Remote Control into the IR Codes Library

- Configuration Items - Import configuration items from another file.
Export..
This exports a scenario file, see http://www.comfortforums.com/forum83/2185.html
Update Defaults
This updates the default configuration files from the Internet eg Vocabulary files, default templates, action codes and other settings used in Comfigurator. An Internet connection is required.
Print..
This prints the current program in worksheet format
Print Review
Previews the Print output
Recent Files
Selects recent files that have been loaded into Comfigurator

Comfort File Formats
*.cclx - Comfort 2 files
*cctx - Comfort 2 Template files
*.ccl - Comfort 1 files
*.cct - Comfort 1 Template files.

Another option for backing up the configuration for Comfort is using the UCM.
The UCM/USB or ETH03 has an EEPROM that can be used to keep a copy of the whole configuration
Use the UPLOAD and DOWNLOAD buttons

Better still, use Comfigurator > Transfer Comfort to UCM EEPROM to save to UCM EEPROM and UCM to Comfort to read the backed up configuratuon from the UCM EEPROM
