Comfort II Firmware Upgrade Question
#1
Hi,

Having recently got a Comfort II board as an upgrade to my Comfort I, I have been reading-up on the new features/capabilities etc.

I\'ve managed to get myself totally confused with regard to the firmware upgrade options etc, relating to the Comfort II main board.

My new board has U1 labelled as 5.183, I have also noticed that there are no connectors surrounding this chip.

My queries are:
  • I assume I can flash/upgrade this board (even though there are no connectors around U1)?
  • Do I have to upgrade using a UCM or can an upgrade be done via Comfigurator?
Thanks in advance,

Ian

The earlier Comfort II which did not have the Flash microcontroller in U1 used to have headers to plug in an MPU for firmware upgrades
What you have is the current design where the Flash U1 is on board so there is no need for the plug in MPU.
You can upgrade the firmware using a UCM (UCM/232 or UCM/USB) and Comfigurator. You need a UCM to do the upgrade

Instructions on doing the firmware upgrade can be found at http://www.comfortforums.com/forum4/1216.html
