Flood Detector acting strangly (Auto Activate)

EOLs are used at the \'detector end\' of any detector - these will either be discrete resistors or be actually built into the detector itself.
They provide a method of detecting if the cabling to the detector has been tampered with (i.e the resistance changes). EOLs from recollection are either 4.7KOhms or 2.7KOhms.

The Comfort CPU needs to know if you are using EOLs or just setting up as Open or Closed circuit - this is done via the jumper next to the Input you are using (as Ident has mentioned)

The simplest way to check is to measure the resistance of the Flood detector (at the Comfort CPU end). You will need to remove the terminal block that the wires come in from first, from the CPU before doing this.

Bridge the flood detector with some wire and if you have EOLs these will be seen as a Resistance, if not you will just see a few Ohms based on the resistivity of the cable run to the detector.

Running the Input with the incorrect EOL setting may cause issues and potential triggers.

Hummm yes it helped a lot , is good information but i am not an expert yet on this Wink i\'m from TI and trying to learn by me this system Wink Wink

 but i have to check if it\'s correcly connected on the central.. i supposed that is it because it was from a day to another that this issue happens. it was working fine.

each detector  have 2 jumpers... but they are not shunted...

the detector have 2 little metal \"things\" that are almost touching the ground , that is if it detects water on them it generate an alarm and cut the water.

is is possible for you if i take some photos of the detector you help me? i take one photo of the one that is from the Kitchen that until this moment is working. and another pic of other in the Bathroom.

 

When i arrive home i\'ll do that Wink

No problem, I have seen these detectors before, however if you want to include a pic then it won;t hurt.

The basis to the test is not really what the detector looks like but more as to what is causing it to trigger the Comfort System.

The following is from the user manual on how to set the jumpers for EOL.

JZ1 - JZ8 3x8 way header - Insert shunt in the position nearest the terminals
for the corresponding Zone 1 to 8 if no EOL resistor is used for the zone. Insert
a shunt in the position away from the terminal block if Double EOL resistors

I suspect you will not require EOLs on the Flood Detector as it is more to alert of water ingress as opposed to a break in and doesn\'t therefore require the same level of protection on the cabling.

This however can be confirmed by testing the resistance of the cabling as I explained earlier.

If this is intermittent then maybe re-position the flood detector so it is no-where near any water - then see if it trips again?
