Lighting control advice

Hi,
I am looking at using a system to control my outside lights and would like some advice on doing so.
I have the following requirements and would like some suggestions on what would be the best systems to use.

1. The PIR\'s are  connected to the inputs of comfort
    
2. 240v mains output
    
3. Be able to specify  how long each light stays on and if it continues to detect movement  to stay on
    
4. Comfort to SMS my  mobile if 2 or 3 of the PIR\'s detect movement during certain time of  the day
    
5. Be able to  override lighting (via comfort client maybe)
    
6. If possible, send  a signal to my PC which controls my CCTV if a PIR detects movement  so my PTZ camera knows where to look
   

I think the TWS02 should be able to control the lights but I will need at least 8 different areas of lighting to be controlled and think this might be an expensive option would CBUS controller or a GJD system be better and still be able to meet the above  requirements?

What you have listed can be done by Comfort using programming of Responses. Some example code should even be available for turning on lights for a period if motion is detected

Each zone activation sends a IP message to the UCM and you need to write a program or script to control your PTZ if possible

Yoiu can use TWS or Cbus or some other means. I suspect CBus or KNX may be more expensive

Hi Chris,

I use RAKO in combination with my Comfort to do something similar. (You need the UCM universal to RSA 232 and then the RAKO RS 232 unit)

I have exterior PIRs on the front and back. These feed into comfort. I have RAKO control my exterior spots, patio lighting and flood lighting(as well as all interior lighting).

For the front of the house at night with no alarm mode set when the PIRs come on Comfort turns my front flood lights on for 90 seconds - well actually they turn them on then when the PIRs stop sensing movement they turn them off 90 seconds later so they wills tay on as long as you are out there.

For the back garden if you walk out thereat night then Comfort turns the decking lights on and also the garden spots and turns them off 60 minutes after last movement.

When night time security is activated then if the PIRs go off it chirps the alarm and turns the floods on for 5 minutes. If more than one PIR is activated then it sounds the alarm.

You could also set them to be part of the daytime security zone if you wanted to be SMSd - though I suspect this might set the alarm off depending on how you configure comfort.

Hi, Thank you both for your fast response.

Am glad I can do this in comfort as would like to keep one system and wouldn\'t need to get another UCM as Schford mentioned, although the Raco system looks good from what I have just looked up.

I am only at the buying stage and expanding comfort to cover the garage so will probably need help in the near future with the programming.

I\'ve had my comfort system for about ten years now and have over the last few months installed a velbus system to control my lighting and heating through comfort and iPhone! Early days for me and just finished the last of my velbus circuits, but featur wise it\'s up there withh CBus in my opionin, but much more affordable!

TWS02 is the best way to control this lighting system. I agree though it will be little expensive comparatively but it will be helpful for u for long.

Actually TWS02 should be the lowest cost among all the options if dimming  is not needed

The most costly thing about it may be to run the electrical wiring from the TWS to the two way switch

another advantage of TWS is that it allows the manual switch to work regardless of the electronic system
