Comfort and DVR

Hi,

Ive just finished putting in a DVR with 4 outdoor cameras. Anyone any idea if this can be linked into the android app in anyway ?

Assuming that the DVR posts to a web page then why not use the same Android app that Cytech use ie \"IP CAM Viewer\". I downloaded the pro version for a couple of pounds and it has loads of sources including web page (mjpeg feeds).

Was thinking along those lines, but how do you know the url for each camera feed (I cant find it in any manual for my dvr, would there be a common format ?)

Just been checking, ipcamviewer doesnt seem to support my dvr, or at least its not listed.

What is the make?

I\'m just looking at the \"Generic URL\" setting of the IPCam setup for example but it does list lots of brands.

Yeah,

Spent the last hour or two looking for my brand (cnm) but its not there. There is a search option as well where it scans for differnt types, but that turned a blank also.

I had one ip camera working on it, but replaced that when I put in the DVR.

Prob should have researched for a compatible dvr, but Im sure there must be a solution.

Happy enough as I finally go decent car detect for my driveway using the DVR motion detect feature :-) but would be nice to get to view the cams via comfort app.

Does the DVR have a network connection? (or capability?) If so it maybe as simple as putting in the IP address that the DVR is assigned when on the network.

You can then use the APP to point at that IP. Networked IP cams tend to have their own built-in webservers, but from your post you are not running this type anymore.

You mention a \'driveway camera\'...I have started looking into ANPR cameras, that basically detect your own registration plate and will alert if a non-authorised plate is detected (these are not linked in anyway to the DVLA, but are setup to read the plates)- They can be used to open a gate when approaching etc

Yep, the dvr has a network connection and I can view it using I.E from anywhere. The prob was getting it to work with the app, in that there was no way to know what the url was to link to each camera of the DVR (I have 5).

Juwi found that my dvr (cnm primus) does have a setting for dvr in the ipcam viewer app that comfort is linked to in android so happy days on that front.

The iphone app works differently though, so cant link the dvr to that wihtin the comfort app.
