Battery question

Hi all,
My system doesn\'t have a battery attached, i understand that i\'ll need to purchase one but can the system function ok without? I had a battery error on the keypad today, i believe it\'s the system check that its ok? can i turn it off?

To disable the daily battery test go to security > misc settings and set battery test interval to 0. The next scheduled test will still occur but after that will not occur again
