Virtual input not working
#1
I\'ve just moved my zwave controller from a Fibaro HC2 to Home assistant with a zwave dongle. I have been using a zwave door switch as a virtual input for several years.
I\'ve included the comfort alarm into the new system with no problems. I\'ve created a virtual node which I want to use as a virtural input just like before. I\'ve associated the virtual node with a door switch. All good so far. I can see the virtual input in my zone list. But it doesn\'t change state. If I change the node to link to a flag or output it works fine. I open the door and the flag/output toggles state. The other way also works. I can toggle lights off and on from within the comfigurator. Any thoughts on what I\'ve done wrong.

Thanks for the file. I cannot see any problem wit that. You say that you have used the virtual input before but you have change the zwave controller? Perhaps tha new controller does not work in the same way?
If possible go to Tools > Bus Monitor, then press Start. This monitors the communications between the Modules including UCM/Zwave and Comfort. While it is running. opena nd close the zwave door contact. Then save all to a text file and send it to support@cytech.biz

Hi Dave.
I have checked the bus monitor files that iou sent. The zone 20 is being turned on and off as expected. So the virtual zone is working.
can you go to security check F,3,2 on the keypad which will announce each zone as it is activated (not when it is off), then activate the virtual zone, you should hear the announcent of the zone name. I see that you have not assigned words to zone 20 so you should hear Zone 20. If you assigned words to the zone you would hear the zone words. for example zone 18 is bedroom garage. I suggest you also write the file to Comfort againm to ensure it is up to daye

It\'s working. Not sure what I did differently but all good now. Maybe with all the messing around I missed writing the file one time. Not sure but now very happy. Many thanks for your support.Smile
