DM02 Interface Modul Troubleshooting
#11
Well I installed a brand new DM02 and have the same problem.  If I execute the command \"Open Door 1 1 10\" after a few seconds it causes a Communication Failure and the system to reset.
I have tried everything I can think of including running the DM02 off UCM01 only or with only the UCM02 connected, removing the keypad from the system, changing and rewriting the location of the Response, changing the response itself, using Door 2 instead of Door 1, executing the response without a DM02 connected at all, etc.
I am stumped as to why this worked for years and now it does not.  I really need to figure this out but am at a loss as what to do next.

I don\'t know if this helps in troubleshooting but when I execute the Open Door command I can hear a very low buzzing (or hum) sound that seems to come from the main alarm PCB for about 3-to-5 seconds before the system resets itself.

I suspect there is a fault in the Main Comfort, as you have eliminated the DM02

The saga continues.  I received a new CM9001 only to find that it appears not to work with my current power supply.  I plugged it in to the transformer but nothing happens, no lights on the LEDs etc.  However, if I connect the backup battery and press the SW51 button the board comes to life.  Does this mean I need a different power supply?

I also note that the configuration of the new CM9001 version ULT 7.xx is different than the one I was replacing which is a ULT 5.xx version.  So it is not a straight swap as I had hoped.
Can I still use my original LEM module with it? It is not clear how though, since the connector has been relocated and the ribbon cable can no longer reach with the board mounted on top.

Further, I have a RGR module as well as DP connector on the old 5.xx board.  These appear to have been removed from the 7.xx board.  Do I need a ringer module or do I now need to get a DSI module (although it says in the manual it is not required for the CM9001?)

Sorry for your frustration. CM9001 uses a different transformer,  which is a smller and ligher and more efficient switching power supply, see below

\\\\

see http://www.comfortforums.com/forum140/5090.html for the differences between CM9000 vs CM9001

http://www.comfortforums.com/forum140/5091.html shows the compatibility of the old modules. LEM01-M2 can be used as long as you use Double EOL resistors.RGR05 is not used anymore, DSI01 door sdtation interface is a new plug in module which includes the ringer.
We took the opportunity with the product to introduce newer technology which unfortunately makes some old modules obsolete

Thanks for the response.  I am getting killed on shipping and import duty from the UK.  Is there a distributor that stocks Comfort parts in Portugal or possibly Spain (the ones listed on the website don\'t appear to do so).

Could you clarify what you mean by Double EOL resistors?  Are these just required on the 8 inputs on the old LEM01?  I could not find a clear explanation of how the EOLs are connected/used with the CM9001 and an older LEM01 module.   The CM9001 I received came with both 8 2k2 and 8 4k7 resistors.  I currently don\'t use any resistors and the Zone/Inputs are set to Use Shunts.  So what do I need to do specifically to get the old LEM working again?

If it is not practical to get the old LEM module working with the new CM9001 then it looks like I could purchase a LEM02B module.  I assume I would then not need the EOL resistors if I upgraded the LEM.  However, is the LEM02B still made...my UK supplier (Laser) does not list it on their site.

And it appears that I will need to purchase a DSI module if I want to use the door stations as before.

Yes it is much easier to get a new LEM02B as it is a hassle to connect the 2 EOL resistors to each zone if you dont need them . Laser should have it in stock as it is quite commonYou need the DSI01 as well

I have done some testing with the new CM9001 and I continue to have the same issue when I execute the Open Door 1 1 10 action.

Given that I have replaced the controller with a brand new CM9001 and replaced the Door Station Module with a brand new DM02 I suspect it is a firmware issue.

I have sent you and email which includes a video so you can see what\'s happening.

We confirm there is a bug from version 7.210 which caused the problem. A new version shall be released soon
