I have an old CBUS UCM (square chip type)
From my understanding it acts as a translator so you can send a CBUS address to CBUS via the CBUS UCM and visa versa

I have a client with a large number of CBUS commands coming into Comfort from external external CBUS switches to operate blinds (that are wired via comfort).

I have just changed the old UCM for the new UCM and now nothing works either way. Am I to assume that the latest UCM 2 is NOT performing a direct translation and that anything that is already programmed will have to be re-programmed to be incorporated into the CBU UCM menu structure ?

there is noi attached file. UCM/Cbus2 uses flags and counters to map to cbus addresses, in preference to cbus responses
eg map flag 1 to cbus addrtess 1, that mewans if ytoiu set or clear flag 1, the mapped cbus address will go on or off, and vice versa. The oold method of using responses is t3edious and takes a longt ime to program. The new way iss much fastyer and neater

I also seem to recall that on the old UCM/Cbus all Cbus Groups were mapped to all Comfort Counters. If you only used 10 Groups/Counters then the rest could not be used for anything else. Like Chiu said, you can map only the Cbus Groups to Comfort Counters you use and leave the rest unmapped for other functions that will not interfere with Cbus. An added bonus is that you can set the Comfort Counter and it will in turn set the Cbus Group as well. No more Cbus-specific commands to be sent to the UCM to switch something on the the Cbus side.

So the point I am making here is that the Old and new Cbus UCM's are only physcally interchagaable.

If the system is already programmed then its not a straight swap.

So the file I have has multiple CBUS switches sending comfort commands to open and close blinds. Reverse to that comfort is operating multiple lights timers etc etc. The responses of which are embedded to the n degree. So the long and the sort of this message is that if the customer wants the system back to how it was operating then we are into days of work..... as I will in effect have to re-program the system.
