Hi,
Before I buy a UCM05 could you help me by answering some questions:
(1) I read somewhere else on the forums (but can\'t seem to find now) the setup for if you had a zone expansion daughterboard fitted which covers the MPU01. Can you leave the UCM 6 pin connector connected at the MPU end and just disconnect either 2 pin or 4 pin or both connectors on the UCM05 when not flashing the firmware?
(2) To use the IR learning capability can someone explain how it works and how to connect up to the PC?
(a) I hear the IR learning LED\'s are on the UCM05 itself - True?
(b) If so then to capture these I need to plug in my PC into the serial port next to the comfort panel - True? If so pretty inconvenient as the panel is at head height!
© If IR capture is via the serial port then can this be used if I have the Ethernet plugin board fitted. I\'ve heard I may need to remove this first - True? If so pretty inconvenient too!
The UCM manual is not very clear on how to setup the hardware to make this all work.
Also would be great to be able to mount the IR receiver LED next to my PC at the end of a zone input or something and connect to the UCM over ethernet to trigger the capture; the software only allows COM port selection and not Ethernet for comms.
It seems to me that IR capture is not made easy by the hardware design.
Regards
Julian
