Changed Port Now cannot access

Using the Comfort Web Module Administration screen I changed the default port from 443 to 80. I can no longer access the Web Server (Failed to Connect, The connection was refused when attempting to contact 192.168.1.107.)

CwmSetup finds the CWM on IP192.168.1.107 and I can also PING the CWM but for some reason I cannot access the webpages. I also tried to reset to default settings using the response 197,19,82,69,83,69,84, 67,79,78,70,255 but no success.

Any ideas?

Can I confirm if your CWM is set to ID 3?

Else, change the second number (19) of the response string to correspond with your CWM ID (ie. 17 for ID 1, 18 for ID2 etc)

The CWM02 is set to ID=2 (factory setting) so if you haven\'t changed the ID setting then you will need to edit the second number of the string to 18 (ID=2) as mentioned by Leon above.

Also ensure that the engineer sign-in option is enabled by pressing[size=\"1\"] [/size][size=\"2\"]F, [/size][size=\"2\"]0[/size] on keypad before sending the reset string.
If the reset is successful you should see the default IP address 10.0.0.16 on CwmSetup.
The last step is that you need to power reset the CWM02.

Just guessing:

As port 443 is for https (not http), could the CWM now be running the https server on port 80 while you\'re using http (port 80) to connect? Maybe try https on port 80 from your browser (go to https://ip-address:80/ ) - I\'ve never tried to run an https service on port 80 so am not sure what could happen - your browser may insist on using http on port 80 while the server is now running https on port 80, or something like that. If the connection was \"refused\" on connection attempt, as per your message, I suspect that this is exactly what\'s happening. Can you telnet/ftp to the CWM?

Actually, I\'m not sure that it\'s a good idea to change port 443 to 80. Have you tried http on port 8080? (http://ip-address:8080/ ) I have an old CWM and assume you\'re using CWM02 - the old documentation doesn\'t mention anything about https, but reading the docs for CWM02, it looks like 8080 is the default for http - if you can get into 8080, and if you really want to run on non-secured port 80, then it may be a better idea to change, if possible, port 8080 on the CWM02 to port 80 and leave the 443 for https as is.

I was following all the steps (changed the ID, etc) but never thought to press F0 prior to executing the response.

I did that, and managed to reset it to factory defaults. Thanks to all for the help!

Now the challenging part is to be able to connect remotely: I have an ADSL Modem/Router which was provided by my ISP and it is locked. I have to use this otherwise I can\'t connect to the internet. Then on this ADSL Modem/Router I have connected my Wireless Router and on my router I have connected the UCM/ETH module, the CWM02 and my local PC. I can access both UCM/ETH and CWM02 locally but not remotely. This is why I was playing around with the ports.

Any ideas?

In my opinion, changing the ports is not the solution.  You should contact your ISP for help in configuring the modem/router instead.
