Internal Speakers

Hi,

I wanted to add a couple of internal speakers at places in the house where keypad is not very audible.  I could add more keypads I know but a big overkill.

Was thinking of something like this:

Possible?  if so what is recommended way to connect and 8 or 16 Ohm? How many in parallel too depending on what connected too (I\'m thinking of adding two!).

The speaker output is rated at 8 ohms
Connecting two in parallel will mean a load of 4 ohms, not recommended
Connecting two in series will mean  the voltage to each will be halved around 6V which is within the CQR specs so that might work The sound may be softer

Doesn\'t sound like a good idea then.  Perhaps i can find an amplified speaker out there.

When you say speaker output do you mean from the main comfort PCB or via the UCM audio?

The Comfort SPKR output will output siren sounds eg Intruder alarm, trouble beeps, arming beeps etc, no voice

The UCM Speaker output is just like  the keypad speaker. It will give siren sounds and announcements. If the UCM \"keypad\" buttons in Wizcomfort are used to enter any menu, then the menu can be heard on the UCM speaker

What about if I use one of these between the SOINT and comfort?

An 18W Universal amplifier.

yes, an amplifier would work. You may need one amp for 2 speakers in series (16 ohms) or parallel (4 ohms)
