Zone announcement not consistent.

Ah.. great, I had this long message typed with attachment and everything and then boom, message gone.

Anyway, I noticed that zone announcements don\'t run through all the open zones when arming and another zone is \'tripped\' EG.

I have three open zones, Zones 1,2 and 3. When arming, the keypad announces all three one after the other until I \'trip\' my PIR then the announcement starts from the beginning again.

1,2, <Trip PIR>,1,2,3,1,2,3,1,<Trip PIR>,1,2,3

If I accepted that zones 1 and 2 were announced and it started back at zone 1 again and then left my house I would never have known that zone 3 was also open and that could leave my house in a vulnerable state.

Can I request that zone announcements not be interrupted in mid-sequence even if a PIR is tripped during arming. This will assure that I hear ALL the open zones before arming.

The announcement of zones is a very complicated piece of code, handling the repetition of zones, announcement of new zones, closing of zones etc

I dont see why announcement of a new zone would be a problem. You are not able to arm until you close all the zones not just the first 2 or 3, and the zones remaining keep on being announced until there are none, and \"Please Exit\" is heard, to allow you to go out and the system to arm

Agreed BUT on a hot summer night I leave a zone or two open when arming to Night Mode. As these zones are announced the PIR catch me moving around and then I cannot, with absolute certainty, determine which zones are open or closed.

As for Day Mode, if I arm to this mode there are obviously a lot of open zones and the purpose of my alarm system is to tell me which zones are open. I don\'t want to find out that a window, at the very furthest corner of my house, is open and me and my family are watching TV safely thinking we are secure and then we are not. Day Mode is actually worst because there is always movement in the house when arming to this mode.

I hear you say \'manually check all the zones\', well no, I have all 64 zones wired up for this exact reason, I don\'t want to check all 64 zones when I want to arm the system, it must reliably tell me which zones are open.

You are not able to arm until you close all the zones

Also incorrect, I force arm the system when I know which zones are open and I accept the risk of those open zones, I don\'t however accept the risk of an unknown open zone.

Day mode is designed for internal zones ie PIRs disabled so that you can move around freely within the house while the perimeter zones are  active, although you can change the default settings. To arm to any night or day mode with active PIRs around would likely cause false alarms, because even if you force arm, zones which close  automatically become active, ie able to trigger an alarm

While you would like to have the new zone not to be announced immediately in your home with 64 zones, unfortunately it may not suit other users who find that behavious useful especially if only a few zones are likely to be open during arming - it provides assurance that the zone is really detected without having to wait till the end

Perhaps you can use Security Check instead (F3,2  on the keypad) which announces all already open zones first, then when it has finished, announces any zones which become open

Maybe I didn\'t explain the scenario properly. I have three open zones, let\'s say three windows. When I arm to Night Mode, the PIR in my bedroom where the keypad is, is disabled but it still picks up my movement where I am busy arming the system. This movement causes the zone announcements to not be sequencial.

Once the system is armed to Night Mode, the PIR that caused the zone announcements to be non-sequencial, has no effect on the state of the alarm system - hence, the PIR is disabled in Night mode.

We have not noticed this before as it is quite a subtle effect
An inactive zone is not announced but it does affect the zone announcements  causing them to start all over again
Once you get out of the range of these PIRs the whole sequence is announced without interruptions.
