Bus topology for PIRs etc.
#1
Comfort can become quite a monster when fully wired with loads of zones, inputs, outputs etc. Also if the upfront planning has not been well thought through can be difficult to expand.

Would it be possible to implement some sort of bus wiring such that one loop of wire around a floor could have all the PIRs etc. Attached to it? I know of a few systems where you insert an ID module in the PIR and the wire via three wires, Power, Data and Ground.

On the back of my previous post for Enviromental interface...\"Dallas One Wire\" might fit the bill.

Fair comment. A tremendous amount of wires are needed for a large Comfort installation. We intend to look at other alternatives in the future. The ID system implemented by a British alarm manufacturer seems to be a proprietary system

On that basis 1W may work well globally as they do have chips with a that just 64 bit unique ID embeded in them
