A couple of Queries

Now the winter is here it\'s time to finally finish my comfort install - though it has been working great I never did finish it off :-)

So I apologise in advance for these queries but am a bit rusty and no doubt they will be the first of a few.

1 - I have completely forgotten how to stop my siren going off when I switch comfort off - can anyone remind me?

2 - I am trying to get my head around how to stop the internal loud speaker / siren from doing the beeps when we arm night mode (some times it wakes up our daughter) - I am guessing not doing them or making them much quieter is something others must have done - could you point me at it?

OK I remembered no 1 as soon as I took the case off I just need to run 12v to the external bell :-)

If someone could help me out with no 2 :-)

You can use the Securty Check Mode
Pres F3,2
This will  announce all zones including bell tamper but not cause an alarm

If you do not want the announcements go to Engginer Menu
ie Press F0 then engineer code and # key
Press 8,6,1
This will allow you to open the box or bellbox without alarm

However you must remember to disable it by engineer Menu 8,6,0 after you finish

if you mean the SPK speaker output is too loud while arming, I suggest you use the trmmer to reduce the volume so that it is softer. There is no special setting for beep volume when arming to night mode This does not affect the speaker volume when there is an alarm as the volume adjustment is bypassed when there is an alarm

Thanks for the feedback - I think I need to explain what I meant a bit more.

For no 1 I meant if I disconnect the power and battery to the Comfort motherboard then my external bell unit sounds! Obviously this is a pain when working :-) - I think the only way to stop this is to send 12v to the external bell unit?

2 - I don\'t really want to lower the volume for everything eg for Alarms I want it good and loud :-) I wonder if I can edit the Sound Type in Comfigurator for Slow Beeps to make them not so loud or less piercing!

PS IS the Engineer code user 1 - or is this separate - I guess I should change the default engineer code if this is different!

PPS If I was to use autoarm night mode eg after a certain time is there any way to disarm the beeps by that method?

I see that I can change the siren type for autoarming and just set that duration to 0 - I think that would do it!

The alarm volume will always be at maximum and not dependent on the volume in lower alarm states so you can go ahead and lower the volume for the beeps

Do not set siren duration to 0 This means permanent
You can set 0.05 seconds as the minimum duration

Engineer code is not user 1
It is  a code used by the engineer for programming the default is 6789, but you need to press F0 to enable it

I think I worked out a suitable solution - in Comfigurator - In the keypad section I changed the night key to activate the response autoarmnightfrom off

Then in the Siren Types I changed the AutoArming duration to 5!

Lets go try it out :-)
