The UCM/Zwave learning process obtains the network from the Controller, and info about the zwave devices eg routing slave, basic slave controller etc

The UCM Zwave also has to interrogate each of the nodes to find out if it is a multichannel device. If the device does not reply to UCM/Zwave then the device appears as a Basic node. That is why the device must have power applied so that it can reply with its status. The load need not be switched on.

Hence the problem with the 3rd Fibaro relay is that it does not respond to a query from UCM/Zwave. You will have to look at possible causes as only you can see the picture.

It is not necessary to add the modules one by one and learn one by one.

Just make sure all 3 are added to the network. If Vera is already working, then just do one time learn with UCM/Zwave. There is no need to reset to default the UCM before doing a learn. Make sure all the relays are powered by 230V when learning

Originally Julian discovered many problems with learning, where a new learn would cause some modules to revert to basic but these problems have been fixed. Many of these problems were to do with Zwave issues which were not known or known but could not be changed so we have handled all these issues since so the current Zwave firmware 7.031 should work well. Check that you are using Zwave 7.031

There may be the impression that when you have some modules already learned,  and you add a new zwave module to the network, only the new module is learned and the old ones stay put

That is not correct

When you do a learn, all the modules are re-learned.  There will not be  any duplicates. Hence when there is any change to the network, just re-learn from the primary again

This is why if any learned modules do not have power, they become basic nodes again after learning as they will not reply to the poll from the UCM

[suB][suP]Node 60 is the fibaro device that won’t detect as a multichannel node.[/suP][/suB]

[suB][suP]Node 4 & 5 are the fibaro devices that do detect as multichannel nodes.[/suP][/suB]

[suB][suP]Comfort must be talking to the fibaro device as it can turn channel 1 it on and off no problem.[/suP][/suB]

[suB][suP]I am not sure what else I can do apart from buy another fibaro module, however, I suspect I will get the same problem. Can you diangnose what happend as part of the learn process if I send the code that generated in the IO monitor?[/suP][/suB]
