Hello all,
I have a Comfort 1 system installed alongside a Homevision controller and lots of X10. I now need to upgrade to the latest kit, but my original installer (Taybell) has stopped offering Comfort and the next nearest (Graham Kemp) has stopped too.
Please will any installer who covers Yorkshire who can integrate systems as well as be NACOSS approved please contact me?

It seems that many NACOSS installers have problems with automation, or NACOSS themselves frown on such \"non-security\" applications.
Is it really important for to have a NACOSS approved installer?
I wish to use a \'Red Care\' service, and my understanding is that they require NACOSS installation. If I am wrong can you suggest anybody in the Yorkshire area who can upgrade my system competantly?

...include a GSM module and receive the alerts yourself (phone Police / Fire Brigade as required), ditch Red Care and save yourself some money...?
Yes I have that now, but increasingly I am out of the country, so that would be a problem, especially with differing time zones.

Firstly you could have NACOSS or SSAIB installer....
Secondly WHY - if you go down this route you will HAVE to have the system maintained (service contract in place) and connected to a monitoring station - All ããã
Simply phone a trustworthy LOCAL alarm company and ask about their keyholding service.
They will charge an annual retainer.
They will jump out of bed at 3a.m. at the chance to earn a large hourly call out rate.
The incentive for the police to do the same (once the call has been diverted and confirmed several times (which it has to be)is non existent especially in residential dwellings.
Hope this helps

What is keyholder service?
Do they monitor alarms or do you call then when there is an alarm in the house?

They hold keys to your property - either a trusted neighbour, or alarm company. In an alarm situation where the owner cannot be contacted, then the relevant services contact them to gain access to the property
