New ComfortClient Release
#1
Hi,

I’m pleased to be able to announce the release of ComfortClient 4.1.4.11 to all registered users.

This one introduces a new feature that I am really excited about and which was described by one of my beta testers as a game changer;  I hope you like to!

It’s called the Object Matrix[/b] and it allows you to see different object collections in Comfort with data/state changes as they happen in real-time. Open multiple Object Matrix windows at the same time and let them float on your desktop or minimise them to the taskbar; it doesn’t matter as they are still logging changes.

During beta testing it already proved it’s worth in helping one Comfort user debug their CBus installation but hey I’ll let you be the judge on it’s usefulness.  View Counters. Sensors, Flags, Inputs, Outputs etc etc at the same time to see how they are interacting with each other or when you trigger an external application or interface into Comfort.

Maybe you are a reseller and commissioning a new system,  then why not use the “show updated” option that automatically highlights any objects that have changed since ComfortClient signed-in to Comfort;  I think this will prove invaluable when soak testing or walk testing new solutions.   Hey and it doesn’t stop there as a couple of clicks and you can export the results to CSV or word format file for inclusion in your system documentation.

The proof will come though through your own usage so please report back on how you get on in with your specific use cases too.

My mind is still buzzing on other features I want to add to this module so stay tuned and don’t be afraid to feedback if there are features you would like too.

The download links can be found on my website or at http://www.comfortforums.com/forum65/1948.html

I hope you download and enjoy!

Regards

Julian

p.s A big hand to Ingo & Mike for your help on this one!

The Object Matrix is certainly very usefulI can see that we will be using that quite often to find out the state of the objects

One quesstion - when you select a group of cells, how do you deselect all or some of them? Only individual deselection of cells seems possible
Nice work, Julian

There is a \"Clear all Selected\" action on the right click menu.
See in the collage picture.

One minor issue Ingo found was that if you change the options it only prompts you to save them as new defaults when the options panel is minimised again BUT NOT if you close the Matrix window itself while the options panel is visible.  I\'ll fix that in the next release but thought you should know.

In ComfortClient 5.x I\'ve also added select/deselect via mouse double-click on the cell.
