Door Contacts in Series EOL

Hi,

I have three door contacts in my property wired in series connected back to a single \"door/window\" zone. The door contacts were previously wired back to a Gardtec alarm panel that I have replaced with a Comfort II. As the gardtec panel used higher resistor values i have replaced the resistors with the equivalent Comfort resistor. Unfortunately i am now in a situation where the panel detects \"trouble\" whenever a contact is open. I assume i have a resistor in the wrong location? But don\'\'t know for sure.

I have looked through the installation manual for a diagram covering how the contacts should be wired and where the resistors should be placed but could not see anythihg. I have ended up in a bit of muddle and wonder if anyone is able to point me in the direction of an idiots guide?

The figure in the Installation manual shows how to connect the EOL resistors, as shown below

Disregard the Tamper if the contact does not have a tamper terminal

The \"Alarm\" in the figure is the contact, but in your case it is 3 contacts in series.
The 4K7 resistor should be in parallel to all the 3 contacts. This may be a bit difficult depending on your wiring. You  cannot connect the resistor in parallel to each contact

The 2K7 (actually changed to 2K2) resistor should be in series with the zone

The zone shunt should be inserted away from the terminal block

alternatively, use the NO EOL setting which does not require any EOL resistors and move the shunt to the position closer to the terminal block
