Some background: I had a G1 panel installed in 2004 and all was well with it until about 6 months ago. Something happened to it (lightning strike maybe?) and unfortunately it appeared to have \"semi-died\" as it wouldn\'t repsond to any commands and re-loading the config made no difference at all.
Anyway, I decided to upgrade and installed a new G2 panel, new ringer module, new keypad and got a new UCM/USB. Since then I have had a number of issues, some of which I have resolved by installing a set of new PIRs and a new door contact. However, I still have the following problems:
1) I cannot sign-in to the panel either via an internal phone or via my mobile phone. I was able to sign-in via the internal phone and via my mobile when I first installed the panel about 2 months ago but cannot any longer.
I have tried to sign-in for about the last 6 weeks and it just won\'t work. Basically, the panel seems to ignore the \"*\" key as keying this, then the pin code and \"#\" just results in me hearing a \"BT error message\". I have a greeting recorded so I know it is not because of that error (I have checked the forum for possible solutions!). It seems the panel cannot \"hear\" the \"*\" and pin code.
2) When arming the system it no longer says \"please exit\". It used to say this when I first installed the panel about two months ago. I upgraded the firmware to the latest version a few days ago and for the first arming attempt after the firmware update it did say \"please exit\". However, since then it no longer says \"please exit\", it just says \"front door\" when the front door is opened to leave.
3) I have a response programmed to switch the hall lights on when opening the front door when the system is in away mode (and if the light sensor says it is dark enough). Basically, if it is dark outside it just turns the hall lights on for you when you get home. This worked fine until I updated the firmware a few days but now the panel turns on extra lights (not just the hall lights) that were not programmed into the response. I cannot see how to fix this as the panel randomly turns on \"extra\" lights as well as the hall lights. It doesn\'t happen every time either..........
These are all seemingly random issues (not connected) but I never had these issues with my much older Gen1 panel. do you have any suggestions on how to fix these issues?
Many thanks!
