Hi Chiu, I am having a few problems with my system after doing some upgrades. I have lost coms with my slave 01 after doing the upgrade. All I did was checked each module for updates and di them.
The last one was slave 1 and it upgraded to version 8.021 and when it rebooted at the end it states coms failure to slave 1 and of course I have no inputs from that point on.
I have re done the upgrade and all seems to work but I still have no coms to the at sem
We will check the slave firmware again next week.
Is the slave the ARM version? if you bought it recently it would be
Did the firmware upgrade complete? If so can you reset the slave , or power it off and on again. If there is no communicatiions use the UCM firmware upgrading cable to upgrade the slave http://www.comfortforums.com/forum4/1782.html
Hi Chiu, Just to let you know I downgraded to 7.207 as you suggested and all is working again. so it does look as if there is a bug in the new version P.S thanks for the help.
I had the same problem - Communications failure after upgrading SEM to 8.021. Using the programming cable I downgraded again to 7.207.
However I am now in a weird situation evertime comfort restarts it tells me communication failure SLAVE 1. When I log in via the keypad it will say communication failure restore and the error goes away. But next time Comfort is reset the same thing happens.
I Scan modules and see the slave there showing 7.207 firmware and zones on it work correctly.
I have tried a read modules (and then get told there is a mismatch and to scan again - which I do.
I then write selective (modules and settings) yet still when comfort restarts the error Communication failure
The problem is the old Slave board without EEPROM. It takes time to detect that the eeprom is not present so during that time after reset, the slave does not communicate
The new Slave with eeprom saves the ID in the eeprom as that does not have any ID switches
You can downgrade to 7.142 from this link https://www.cytech.biz/download_files.php?item_id=1254
Thank you for the quick reply. Is this something that future versions of the Comfort firmware will take into account? ie factor in the delay and then check for the SEM again? Or should I consider a new SEM module?
In in the UK so would purchase via www.laser.com. They list this as SEM02-M2 The picture of the board looks identical to the one I have so unsure if this is the new version.
