Sorry, you are correct, it was a mistake, you should have UCM 5.178 to do an upgrade to Comfort or other upgradable modules

Hi Chiu, as a matter of interest I have experienced the same problem on two other systems around the same time. I am not 100% sure if it relates to a surge or lightning strike. Reinstalling the voice resolved this issue

We have found that Voltage surges due to lightning strikes do tend to make comfort lose its voice. Nothing is damaged, the system can be armed and disarmed, and can dial out to CMS as these do not depend on voice.

Hi,
I have a similar problem. Had freaking lighning storm the other night. I have no comms between my C4 and Comfort. Tried logging into Comfort and got the message UCM not found. I can see no physical damage to the UCM. This is my third UCM If it is lightning, why is the rest of the system still good. If it is lightning why is it the UCM getting blown all the time ? How do we protect the UCM ? Thanks

Use one of these:

Second one is more heavy duty. The line go through it. The first one only attached to the lines.

These are heavy duty lightning protectors which look good and solid
We also have TPB01 telephone protection module and APB01 ADSL Passthrough protection modules which provide some protection against lightning which should be installed anyway, although the clealine ones should be more robust |
