What is the meaning of Zone Trouble
#1
A Zone Trouble alarm is displayed and announced on the keypad accompanied by a series of beeps on the keypad (the Trouble beeps)

Zone Trouble may mean that the zone shunts are inserted in the \"Double End of Line Position\", but there are NO End-Of Line Resistors connected to the Zone Input.
The Zone shunts are 3 pin headers  marked JZ1 to JZ8 near the terminal block for each zone

Put the shunt Closer to the terminal block for NO End of Line Resistor, and AWAY from the Terminal Block for DOUBLE End of Line Resistors

End Of Line Resistors are used to allow the system to detect when the alarm wires have been cut or shorted - this situation causes a Zone Trouble alarm when the security system is not armed, and causes an Intruder Alarm when system is armed
See Information about End Of Line Resistors in http://www.comfortforums.com/forum127/4935.html

If you do not install 2 End of line Resistors, then put the shunt  in the position closer to the terminal block.
If the Zone Shunts are Closer to the Terminal Block (NO EOL Resistor position), test by removing the zone wires and opening and shorting a wire between the Zone abd Common Terminal. This should NOT cause Zone Trouble

Zone Trouble may also be caused by open circuit or short circuit wiring between the Terminal Block of the Zone and the Contact/Sensor, or short circuit to other voltages or to Ground.

Do a Security Check by pressing F,3,2 on any keypad. This causes all open zones to be announced. Closed zones are not announced. When any zone is opened, then the zone name is announced. Any zone with Zone Trouble will announce the Zone Number so the  zone can be traced.

The Installation Manual which explains how to connect zones can be downloaded from https://www.cytech.biz/installation_manual.html The Installation manual is essential to a correct connection.
