UCM Saved Connection Settings
#1
The original post applied to Comfigurator 3.5 and is NOT relevant to Comfigurator 3.6
For Comfigurator 3.6, please go to this post http://www.comfortforums.com/forum92/3398.html for information

This topic is a continuation from http://www.comfortforums.com/forum20/2888.html

This may be the most significant change in Comfigurator 3.5

The UCM Connection Settings are now saved in Configuration > System Information > Connection Properties

UCM Interface pulldown menu shown above selects Serial, Network (Local), Network (Remote), USB.
This means that the UCM connection method and setting is now saved in the cclx file.

This is especially useful for Installers who program many customers configurations as they will not have to remember each customers connections

The most useful settings are for Local Network and Remote Network settings when UCM/Ethernet is the connection method. Both Local and Remote  IP addresses are saved.

The session UCM Connections can be changed in Options > Settings

There is a new checkbox \"Override Saved Connection Settings\"
If this is unchecked, the saved UCM connection settings are used and the \"UCM Interface\" parameters are grayed out, ie not editable

If the \"Override Saved Connection Settings\" checkbox is checked, the UCM interface settings can be changed for the session
This connection setting is NOT saved, ie it is like the old way of selection of UCM connection

How do you know which of the connection methods (saved or overridden connection methods) is in use?

Easy, the connection in use use is shown in the Status Bar

The tutorial is continued in http://www.comfortforums.com/forum20/2890.html
