Unable to connect to UCM

Good day,

A client bought a universal UCM a year or so ago.
Last week we\'ve built his entire installation over into one bigger enclosure and added his UCM.

All worked well when we powered up the installation again, but we experience the following problem.

When the new UCM was added (version 5.228), the entire system slowed down dramatically, meaning that any key presses was followed by about a 5-10 second delay.
C-Bus also could not connect to the Comfort.

The jumper settings on SW7 (RS485) on the universal UCM and the C-bus UCM was not the same, but was default as was received from the distributor. (UCM SW7 jumper B,C,D was jumped)

I took a chance to change a jumper setting on the universal UCM & only jumped C, D.
This sorted the problem of the delay & all seems to work, but..

I am unable to connect to Comfort via this UCM. I was also unable to connect prior to the jumper setting changes.

With 2 of my own UCM\'s (version 5.63 & 5.43) I can connect & download though.

I tried with Comfigurator 2.9.10.0 & Comfigurator 2.1.0.
The result is the same with both.
The client\'s file is a .ccl file.

Any ideas if this may be a simple problem or if the client must rather exchange it at the distributor.

Also, is there any documentation on the jumper settings on the UCM\'s?

The ID settings ae documented in the UCM manual which can be downloaded from https://www.cytech.biz/ucm_manual.html?category_id=107

If you have a UCM/Cbus and UCM/Universal, both IDs are set to 2 by default and you will have a clash of IDs if you do not change one of them

If you change the Universal UCM setting to shunt only C and D, ie A and B not inserted, the ID is 4. Comfort will not poll this ID because you have not changed the Number of IDs accordingly

The Universal UCM is not for connecting to the PC to use Comfigurator, it is used to communicate with 3rd party systems by Rs232 or Ethernet

Furthermore you need to use Comfigurator 3 to program the configuration of Universal UCM, Comfigurator 2 will not work
Check the Universal UCM manual from https://www.cytech.biz/universal_ucm_man...ory_id=107

I suggest you download the latest Comfigurator 3.5.6 and load the ccl file and convert to cclx before working on it further

I have 2 of the older UCM\'s that uses the PC\'s COM port to up/download info to the Comfort.

If the UCM05 is not used for programming, what unit is then used?

The Universal UCM and UCM05 are completely different

UCM05 is an older UCM with Rs232 Interface built in, which is used for programming Comfort

UCM05 is no longer produced and has been replaced by UCM/USB and UCM/Ethernet

The Universal UCM has a completely different function, not used to write and read to comfort, but is used to interface to other products using Rs232 or Ethernet, see http://www.comfortforums.com/forum94/2126.html
