NO LEDS on main Board???

I have Just turned on a UltraII board for the first time. there are no LEDS turning on on the board but the lights on the UCM module are coming On and there is power at the 12v and Com jumper on the Main board. The D9 and D10 lights are not coming on on the UCM. I have only terminated a few zones and there are No keypads or door phones connected.

I am under the impression that the LEDS on the Main Board should show the start-up procedure even if nothing is connected?

The valid states of the main board leds are
- Red flashing means alert or alarm state (same as the red led on the keypads)
- Green flashing means Trouble state
- Red steady means system armed or \"Set\" (Away, Night, Day, or Vacation)
- Green steady means system disarmed or \"Unset\"
- Red and Green both steady (no flash) means mismatch between Comfort firmware and the U4 File system. This is due to downloading the wrong file system configuration into Comfort. It can be easily rectified by downloading the correct file system from a template

If both LEDs are off, that could mean that no power is supplied or faulty board or incorrect jumpers
Is there an MPU01 (firmware upgrade) plugged in over the U1 IC? (see picture)
If so then Shunt J14 on the main board must be removed, If there is no MPU01, then J14 shunt must be inserted. I suspect this should be the cause of what you describe

There is a MPU01. i have removed the shunt!!! and now both LEDS come on, is the correct file system for a ULTRA 11 34? i haven\'t downloaded yet so not sure how it can be the wrong file system?

The correct file system for Comfort II Ultra is 34. I dont know why the file system would not be correct but try a download from a default template

The UCM05 now comes with the spare \"default\" U4  EEPROM. If you put the J4 shunt on the 3 position header on the UCM so that it points towards the EEPROM and press the DOWNLOAD button, this will transfer the entire EEPROM contents to Comfort without using Comfigurator. See the picture with red circle markings to indicate the relevant places on the UCM

i have now got to the point of downloading. i am using a default program and when i try to sign in to download it says please enter the engineer code not a user code. i am using the Default (6789).

I am also having a comms issue with the keypad. I have 1 keypad connected directly to the main board, wiring is correct ID is all shunts in and if a press more than 5 presss it no longer beeps. I Don\'t seem to be getting a comms failure when i remove the KA/KB jumper is this because of the file system error?

Comfigurator 2.2.0 onwards requires the Engineer Code in order to download. You have to press F0 on the keypad in order to enable the engineer code.

If there is a file system mismatch, the keypad will not work so pressing F0 wil not work either.  In this case there is another way to emable engineer code, described in http://www.comfortforums.com/forum20/798.html

2  Select [Transfer] [Monitor I/O]   so that it is ticked.
3 Select [Transfer] [System Information]
4.  If asked for a password enter a normal user code,   not the engineer code.
The system info window pops up,  if it does not then your cannot do anything until that issue is resolved.
5 Click [OK]  on the system info window to get rid of it.
6 Now in the long one line  ( command line field of Comfigurator) type  DA5C01  followed by carriage return. (This means Do Action - Enable Engineer)

You should see the following in the log window.
Tx: <STX>DA5C01<CR>
Rx: <STX>PS01<CR>    
Rx: <STX>RA00<CR> 
 
The PS01  is the system reporting that engineer code is now enabled.
7  Now do a standard [Transfer] [Download PC> Comfort],  and all should be well with the world.[font=\"times new roman\"]

Also if you have an EEPROM on the UCM05, you can press Download to transfer the contents into Comfort
