  UcmPI not communicating with Comfort
Posted by: Howser - 10-28-2025, 08:48 PM - Forum: UCM/Pi - Replies (6)

I upgrade to Comfort 4.x a few days back, I had to restart the ucmPi tonight after updating my network gear.  The ucm can no longer be polled,  the pi seems to reboot as node-red seems to be running.

Trace produced the shared results

  Node red
Posted by: 111rdw - 10-28-2025, 04:48 PM - Forum: Comfort with Home Assistant - Replies (1)

I have just set up the comfort/HA addon and with a little help from hear have it working nicely. I am now trying to explore what I can and cannot do. I am wondering if it is possible to trigger the alarm on and off using node red. I've been trying to replicate the automation for remote arming. I can send messages to the alarm via mqtt and they appear when I monitor it with mqtt explorer. But cannot get it to turn on. (or off). Any thoughts on a) is this possible and b) what message do I need to send.

  Comfigurator 4.0.x
Posted by: slychiu - 10-14-2025, 07:19 AM - Forum: Comfigurator - Replies (3)

The new Version of Comfigurator 4.03  has the following changes
Comfigurator 4 can be installed with  Comfigurator 3.x.x in the PC, This allows  the old comfigurator 3 to be used eg with old cclx files if necessary due to compatibility problems

Known Bugs

  • when  upgrading firmware ;after logging in and right clicking on Controller to  "upgrade firmware from local file" and selecting the cbf file, the message "CBF file not compatible with the firmware to be upgraded" is seen, but after a scan for modules  then it can upgrade. Also if start a new template, an  upgrade can be done without any error message.
  • if comfort is Optimum firmware, opening ULT or EMS file system and connecting and logging in to the system will get exception. This will not happen for EMS or ULT. Normally iComfigurator should warn that the file system is not matched to the firmware
  • When  firmware upgrade fails, for any reason and there is an attempt to upgrade again,  Comfigurator log in fails because many commands are sent at log in while UCM in bootmode can only reply to 1 command at a time.
  • After log in if ther eis no  scan for modules, download firmware upgrade will select the non-arm firmware
  • Scan for Modules sometimes gets error "Scan for Modules failed"
Bugs Fixed
  • Corrupted cclx files were sometimes scanned wrongly as ARM
  • Phone numbers screen  does not show sms permissions when 1st phone is not Voice or SMS (eg phone is is CMS)
  • HIO could not be detected after scan for modules
  • fixed bugs with multiple repeated outputs in responses or displayed Outputs in Comfort register
  • fixed bug with UCM ID 0 or 1  wrongly detected when there is a plug in ETH03 in CM9001
Changes
  • In Zones "Duplicate EOL settings" checkbox shows a warning message before confirming so the box is not checked by mistake
  • supports new  gsm5 module

ETH03 cannot be seen in Comfort Server Manager
Posted by: slychiu - 10-07-2025, 04:10 AM - Forum: Ethernet UCM/ETH03 - No Replies

If The IP address of ETH03 cannot be seen in Comfort Server Manager, it  could be due to the presence of more than 1 Network adaptor in the PC, for example wifi and Ethernet Network adaptor.

Comfort server manager  will  transmit  a  broadcast UDP  packet to the 1st network adaptor  containing  the message, "Discovery: Who is out there?" on the local network to port 30303. If any ETH03s are  connected  to  the  network,  they  will  respond  with  a  UDP  packet  containing  their  host name and MAC address and IP address  If there are more than 1 network adaptors in the PC, the UDP message may be sent to the wrong network adaptor. Note that Managed switches and Routers may also block port 30303 thus preventing discovery

To fix this you can prioritise the network adaptor used by Comfort Server manager to send the UDP discovery.

go to Control Panel. Select Network and Internet > Network and Sharing centre

you will see your network adaptor in the screen.

click on Change Adaptor settings on the left

right click on your  networkk adaptor, eg Wifi in my case and select Properties

In properties look for Internet Protocol 4 (TCP/IPv4)

select Advanced
There is a box called Automatic Metric which  is checked ie selected by tick
Uncheck it and enter  1 in Interface Metric

Press OK
This will ensure that the network adaptor is selected first when Comffort Server Manager looks for the IP address of ETh03

Zone trouble after installing new LEM01B
Posted by: gsnottingham - 10-01-2025, 09:24 AM - Forum: Troubles - Replies (5)

A few months back my original LEM board stopped working after a high voltage found its way onto one of the outputs which stopped the output driver board from functioning. As a temporary fix I removed the output driver board and the inputs continued to work normally.

I could not order a new output driver board so I ordered a new LEM01B which I fitted for the first time today. So far I have plugged in the inputs but not the ouputs.

The system tells me that I have Zone Trouble on zones 9, 10 and 11.

These three zones all connect to internal doors which are used for non-alarm purposes (indicating when parts of the house are accessible to pets for example) so I do not think they were ever fitted with EOL resistors.

I am running comfigurator 4. In Zones/Inputs the EOL column says 'Use Shunts' for all zones, but the drop down menu does not allow this to be changed.

Do I now have to add EOL resistors to these zones to make them work, even though they are set to 'SwitchNC' since I cannot change the jumper settings manually? If this is the cause of the problem can I fall back to an earlier version of comfigurator that lets me change this setting?

If my guess above is wrong, is there an alternative obvious explanation for the problem I am having please? I have spent a few hours searching on this forum withou any success so far.

Thanks

Fibaro Smart Implant - Strobe output
Posted by: sinky100 - 09-10-2025, 06:17 PM - Forum: Miscellaneous Interfaces - Replies (1)

Hi guys,

Looking for some assistance on using a smart implant (Z-Wave) to detect when the comfort’s strobe activates.
The smart implant is requires a 12V supply constant (Aux 12V, COM). I was hoping to use STR- and !2V to connect to the smart implant, but see that at the panel the STR- is the only terminal connected to the strobe. I assume that the 12V is linked inside the siren box from the SIREN +?

I am also considering connecting the smart implant to one of the OP terminals. Where the OP would activate on strobe activation through responses, but would need more investigating.

Anyone have any experience connecting the the smart implant to the comfort alarm?

Thanks,
Iain

  Vibration word missing from Comfigurator
Posted by: Sota - 08-27-2025, 02:16 PM - Forum: Questions on Programming Comfort - Replies (2)

I'm reprogramming new zones in my house and I notice that I don't have the option to add "Vibration" to the phrase in the dropdown list. Existing zones have the word, but I can't add it to new zones. The drop down list has Vacation, Video and Volume but no Vibration.

  Comfort2MQTT and UCM/PI
Posted by: bmistry3 - 08-25-2025, 08:26 AM - Forum: Comfort with Home Assistant - Replies (1)

Hello Folks

If one already has the UCMPI running and using Node Red and talking to HA, what are the advantages of removing it and moving to Comfort2MQTT

I assume biggest advantage is you remove the UCMPI hardwar from the equation

Thanks
Bhupendra
