  KP04AE Keypad for CM9001-EMS
Posted by: slychiu - 06-23-2018, 07:21 AM - Forum: Environmental Monitoring System - Replies (1)

The KP04AE Keypad (firmware 7.014 and above) in EMS Mode is used for  Environmental Monitoring used with CM9001-EMS.

The KP04AE has the following functions for up to 8 sensors.

  • View Sensor values like Temperature and Humidity, Water Leakage.
  • View and change Setpoints
  • Enable or disable setpoints

Sensor values can be obtained from the following sources;
  • MSM01 Temperature/Humidity Sensor Module
  • KP04AET keypad with Temperature Sensor
  • TSM01 Temperature Sensor
  • IRIO01 with ISM01 submodules with Temperature Sensor External Interface by UCMs eg KNX, Cbus, Modbus
In Comfigurator  Modules Tab, Right click on the left pane and scan for modules to detect the KP04A. KP04AE and KP04ET are shown as KP04A.  Check that the KP04A firmware is 7.014 or above. If so you should be able to see Alarm/EMS Mode and Prevent Changes under the KP04A Properties category.

By default the Keypad is in Alarm Mode. It can be changed to EMS mode by selecting EMS in the Alarm/EMS drop-down list.
“Prevent Changes”: if set to True, this prevents users from making any changes to the setpoints or enable/disable settings.
The Alarm/EMS Mode can be changed to EMS only if the Controller is CM9001-EMS. If the Alarm/EMS Mode is changed to EMS then up to 4 sensors can be assigned to the KP04A as shown below;

In the example above Sensors 1,2,6,10 are assigned to the 4 sensors. The properties of the 4 sensors are shown in the Properties window for each sensor;
  • Sensor Number:    The Sensor number selected
  • Setpoint Counter: The Counter assigned to hold the setpoint (in Sensors Table)
  • Max Setpoint:        Maximum allowed value of the setpoint (in Sensors Table)
  • Min Setpoint:         Minimum allowed value of the setpoint (in Sensors Table)
  • Units:                    The Units eg degrees, %, lux, W, mW (in Sensors Table)
  • Enable Flag:          The Flag assigned to Enable/Disable setpoint (in Sensors)
  • Description:          16 characters to describe the Sensor (in Sensors Table)
Note that the properties above are Read-Only, and cannot be changed in this screen. These parameters can be programmed in the CM9001-EMS Sensors Screen described in the previous section.

If less than 4 sensors are required, leave the remainng positions empty or unassigned. Do a “Write to Keypad: after the sensors are selected.

KP04A Operation in EMS Mode
In EMS Mode, the numeric keys 0 to 9, *, # work the same way as in Alarm Mode, ie they can be used to disarm the system or to make selections in the Voice Menu. The Function keys in the right column have different functions in EMS Mode as follows;

Note The * key is used to enter setup mode in both EMS and Alarm Modes.
Hence in EMS Mode, the function keys cannot be used to arm the security system and the F key cannot be used to select Function key shortcuts. To enable Engineer Mode, instead of pressing F0, go to User Menu, 9 for Program menu, and press 3,4,1.

In EMS Mode, if no sensors have been assigned, then the following message will be seen. EMS mode is not necessary if there are no sensors too be monitored.

Pressing the  AWAY (+) key will increment the setpoint and pressing the Night (-) key will decrement it. The display will revert to show the Setpoint/temperature if no buttons are pressed.

Pressing the Day key will Toggle, ie alternately disable and enable the setpoint. If the setpoint is disabled, the Setpoint is not shown, and only the sensor value is shown (see below). This means that there will be no sensor alarm for this sensor.

If the sensor value exceeds the Setpoint, then the Virtual Input defined in the CM9001-EMS Sensors screen is activated. Depending on the Zone Type and Alarm Type, this can trigger an Alarm and dial or SMS to the programmed numbers for the alarm type.

Humidity can also be displayed in one eof the 4 sensor slots as shown below with or without setpoint.

  CM9001-EMS Sensors Regsiers
Posted by: slychiu - 06-23-2018, 06:38 AM - Forum: Environmental Monitoring System - Replies (1)

CM9001-EMS has 32 Sensor Registers that are useful for handling Sensor values and Alarms. Sensors can be updated with various values like Temperature, Humidity, Current, Power, Lux etc. The sensor values can be obtained from the TSM or external systems like KNX, Cbus, Modbus etc.
Each Sensor is compared to a Setpoint, which is held in a Counter, so that if the sensor value exceeds the setpoint, a Virtual Input is activated, thus causing an alarm. Virtual Inputs can be any unused Input in CM9001 up to Input 96. Virtual Inputs are programmed like physical Inputs ie assign to Zone Types, activate On/Of Responses. A Virtual Input will ignore any activity on the physical input itself.

Each Sensor can be assigned to the following parameters;
“Response”: Response or program that is activated when there is a change in Sensor value. Leave as Null Response if not needed.
“Counter”: CM9001-EMS has 32 Counters. The Counter holds the Setpoint. Changing the Counter value similarly changes the setpoint. This allows setpoints to changed programatically from other events. Counters are non-volatile ie the value is maintained even when power and battery are removed.

  • “Max Setpoint”: Maximum Allowed Setpoint (in Counter)
  • “Min Setpoint”; Minimum Allowed Setpoint (in Counter)
  • “Hysteresis”: Hysteresis applied when the sensor has exceeded the Setpoint to prevent excessive switching of alarms
  • “Calibration”: Offset to the Sensor value (-128 to +127)
  • “Scaling Type”: A scaling factor can be applied to the sensor value. choose “0”, 0-99, Multiply, Divide.  “0” means No scaling. “0-99” means the sensor value of 0 to 255 is scaled to 0 to 99. Multiple and divide means the sensor value is multiplied or divided by a Scaling value.
  • “Units” Unit text to be displayed in KP04A in EMS Mode. This has not function, it is only display.
  • “Virtual Input”: When the Sensor Value exceeds the Setpoint (Counter value), the Virtual Input is activated. A virtual Input behaves just like a physical input, ie it has a Zone Type which triggers an Alarm Type. In Alarms > Zones, the Virtual Input setting is seen. Note that a Virtual Input will ignore anything that is connected to the Input terminal. A Virtual Input need not be on the CM9001, Slave or Local Expansion Modules so that it does not use up a Physical input.
  • “Enable Flag”: A Comfort Flag can be assigned to Enable or Disable the Sensor function. A Flag is a Binary element, it has  2 values Off (0) or On (1). CM9001  has 254 Flags numbered 1 to 254. If a Flag is assigned to the sensor, setting the Flag (to 1) will enable the Sensor comparison, and clearing the Flag (to 0) will disable the Sensor comparison. If the sensor is disabled, the comparison with the counter setpoint will not take place and the Virtual Input becomes 0 (off)
  • “Description”: This is text that is displayed on the KP04A EMS keypad.
  • “Show Status”; Checking this box will show the real time state of the Sensor, Counter, Flag and Virtual Input, provided the CM9001-EMS is connected. The values of Counter and Flag (but not Sensor) can be changed by entering the value in the fields (Setpoint Value and Flag State), which is very useful for testing as it allows changing of Setpoint and enable/disable of the function.

The order of the adjustments on the raw sensor value due to the above factors is;
  1. Sensor Response
  2. Scaling Factor
  3. Calibration
  4. Comparison with Counter
Counters
Setpoints for each sensor are kept in Counter Registers. There are 32 Counters in CM9001-EMS which may be assigned. The Setpoint for each sensor can be set or changed by entering a value in the corresponding Counter. If a Counter is not assigned to a sensor that means the sensor is for monitoring only, and Virtual Alarm and alarm will not be triggered by the sensor, and KP04A wiill omly show the sensor value without setpoint. Counters are non-volatile, ie they maintain their value even after loss of power. The Counter value may be changed in KP04A using the Increment (Lock) and Decrement (Moon) keys.

Flags
Flags can be assigned to a sensor. A Flag has a binary state, ie it is either On or Off. A Flag which is assigned to a Sensor is used to enable or disables the Setpoint. Input.  In KP04A if the sensor is monitored, pressing the SUN Key alternately enables and Disables the Virtual Input. If disabled, the sensor is displayed only without any setpoint. Flags are non-volatile, ie they maintain their value even after power off.If a Flag is not assigned to the Sensor, the Setpoint is enabled.

Virtual Inputs

Virtual Inputs can be any unused Input in CM9001 up to Input 96.
A Virtual Input behaves just like a physical input, ie it has a Zone Type which triggers an Alarm Type, and activates On and Off Responses. In Alarms > Zones, the Virtual Input setting is seen. Note that a Virtual Input will ignore anything that is connected to the Input terminal. A Virtual Input need not be on the CM9001, or installed  Slave or Local Expansion Modules so that it does not use up a Physical input.

  CM9001-EMS
Posted by: slychiu - 06-23-2018, 02:00 AM - Forum: Environmental Monitoring System - Replies (1)

CM9001-EMS is an advanced Environmental  Monitoring System which  monitors temperature, humidity, water leakage and other sensors in unattended facilities like Data Centres, Server rooms, Wine chillers, Telecom Base Stations, and Pharmaceutical Freezers.

Notification of alarm is via dial-out  to a maximum of 16 phone numbers for Voice announcements or SMS messages. The Eth03 email feature is not recommended for EMS (as it is more suited to Intruder Alarm

8 outputs on the system can be programmed to control equipment via relays or to send Infrared signals  to control air-conditioning systems.

CM9001-EMS is a modular system which allows easy expansion of functions, Input/Outputs, and external interfaces like Modbus, KNX and C-Bus, or RS232 and RS485 interfaces.

CM9001-EMS is based on the same proven reliable hardware as Comfort, but firmware is specially developed for Monitoring of sensors and dial out voice announcement or SMS for alarms. An Industrial wordlist/vocabulary is installed instead of the Residential wordlist for voice announcement.

CM9001-EMS has enhanced Sensor Registers. The Sensor registers can be have Setpoints in Counter registers so that when the Sensor value exceeds the setpoint, a Virtual Input can be turned on which then activates one of 31 alarm types

The MSM01 Multi-sensor Module has Build in Temperature and Humidity Sensors that are mapped to Sensors in CM9001-EMS. 2 external Water Leak Detector cables can be connected to MSM01 to monitor water leakage in server rooms. There are also 4 external Inputs for connection to external equipment for failure event detection. The sensors when the value exceeds to setpoints cause alarms in CM9001-EMS
Details of each of the features will be described in other posts in this forum

The Optional UCM/GSM4 can be used to send SMS to a maximum of 16 phone numbers in the event of any alarm. Each Type of Alarm grouped by Machine, or Sensor type can dial out to a maximum of 16 Phone numbers by SMS or by voice call to announce the alarm information. CM9001-EMS also has a built-in dialer for voice calls by landline  telephone lines.

  Responses when to fix....and 255 limitation?
Posted by: schford - 06-21-2018, 02:50 PM - Forum: Responses and Actions - Replies (2)

So I am busy updating everything ready to play with node red :-)

Could someone remind me when we need to fix responses,   I recall it is when we call them externally via the RS 485 bridge I think, I also have half a memory that we need to fix them for when we call them from the Universal ECM (Rako) in my case - that is unless we remember to write to the EEPROM every time we change a response - is that correct?

Also is it correct that we can only call responses that have a number below 255 externally?
If that is true is there a way of forcing some responses to be prioritised and get a lower number?

Thanks!!!

  SO how is it going :-)
Posted by: schford - 06-21-2018, 09:04 AM - Forum: UCM/Pi - Replies (6)

Well I must say I am tremendously excited,  I have been playing lately with node red a lot and Alexa integration and also the node red dashboard - it is simply fantastic.
To get my head around it in the short term, I have been integrating the alarm via MQTT to Home Assistant and then accessing all the sensors in Node Red. (Caveat it is a little flaky and keeps dropping access periodically, so it is not a proper solution imho but is great to start getting everything ready).
As an aside Home Assistant is a fabulous tool to use as you can integrate so many things to eg (wifi watering systems anyone?) and then make the devices available to node red so they can interact with comfort and vice versa!
So couple of queries :-)
1 - When do you think we will get the proper hardware solution :-)
2 - Have you got anythign fancy in node red you can share with us we can try!
Cheers

  Siren Sounds for no reason
Posted by: davidsilva - 06-18-2018, 09:11 AM - Forum: Problems & Troubleshooting - Replies (3)

Hi,
In one installation, I have a Comfort II Ultra with the siren on the strob connection. Last week, with the system disarmed, the siren rang twice and after entering the code on the keyboard, stopped playing, but when I export the events logs, I don\'t see any reference to this alarm. What may have been the reason for this alarm?
Best regards,

  GSM4 Module which UCM?
Posted by: idheath - 06-14-2018, 04:55 AM - Forum: GSM Module - Replies (7)

I’m thinking of buying a GSM4(3G) module, or may be rhe 2G version.

I have a spare UCM, can I use that rather than buying the whole UCM-GSM unit?

Also is the GSM4(3G) available on its own.

Thanks

  New feedback from BT regarding dial tone in UK
Posted by: strangehead - 06-13-2018, 12:14 PM - Forum: FAQs - Technical - Replies (4)

I attended a meeting at the British Telecom Tower in London where it was announced that the dial tone within the UK by 2020 will no longer be available due to the National Upgrade to a fibre infrastructure upgrade. I assume that means that all calls will be Voice over IP.Does anyone know if Comfort have investigated this and do we know if this will effect our present installs ?????????.Confusedhock:
