Got a pi case and out it in, think I might have passed a little hard, don\'t see any damage but on powering up, only the power light comes in, no network lights in the Ethernet.
Not sure how to troubleshoot this, any hints ?

This is probably due to a [color=\"#ff0000\"]very old UCM firmware[/color] (UCM/USB or UCM/ETH03) for the UCM used to program the system. The old UCM firmware is not able to support new features in Comfort or Comfigurator, and thus needs to be upgraded

The UCM firmware should be upgraded to the latest, by right clicking on the UCM under Modules and selecting \"Check for Firmware Upgrades\"




You will be asked to press F0 on the keypad to enable Engineer Mode

If you see that message, please press F0 on the keypad.  This is a protection against unauthorised upgrade.

Hi All

I have some very exciting news to share.

Mr Chiu and his team of engineers have developed a prototype of a combined UCM/UHAI module in order to produce a commercial quality solution.

I am very excited to be receiving this module shortly and will start porting the code to run on it.

It will make a tremendous difference to the reliability of the solution, taking advantage of the Comfort PSU and watchdog timers available in the UCM and directly connecting the RPi to the Comfort system.

From the images I have seen, the quality of the prototype is exceptional, and I will share more news with you as we progress.

The beta firmware has the following improvements and bug fixes;

1. Bypassed zone now report in z? reply as OFF not on.
   
2. Prevent f? flag states Report and SN report at reset without login
3. UCM sends Cs01 if ID is not polled, sent Cs02 if there is no RS485 communications.
4. U? add last byte 00 for non eth03, 01 for ETH03 This is to allow comfigurator to know if ETH03 is installed in future
   
5. Fixed BUGs - sometimes  UPLOAD and DOWNLOAD buttons on UCM did not work.

1. causes Vocab Upgrade to fail at 23%, 50%, 75 %
2. COPY Button set ID could not set to maximum 8 From UCM 7.072
   

So rather than jumping onto an existing thread - I too am keen to be able to see the state of a lamp in action tiles.
Currently though all I have a switches that activate a response for either on or off for lights controlled via comfort.
I guess I need to set the state of the light using a counter in comfort and then use smart things to read state of that counter to pass onto action tiles so it can see if it is on of off?
Before I make a complete mess of it I wonder if anyone could give me some hints and tips.
FYI my lights are all RAKO and controlled via comfort into RAKO RS 232.
This is good as smart things cant see RAKO so it is my only option to get it working.
I have just swapped out my network UCM to v3 so at least I can use comfigurator without gaving to stop UHAI!

well I couldnt see them anyway...

1. can IoT work on just your home network, or must it have external internet access ?
2. how does the system deal with connection issues if no broadband ?
   (our broadband has a lie down once in a while)
   
3. Does IoT permanently use up one of the connection ports on the UCM, or does it just connect when it needs to ?
4. If the latter, what happens if it cant connect (maybe in use by phone app or pooter for example), does it retry or what ?
5. how are potential security issues resolved ?
   (whats to stop others from the internet controlling my devices, or determining what \'things\' I have connected)
   
6. Can I use voice commands (e.g. via bixby on phone or amazon echo) to command certain responses, in the same manner I can using the comfort app ?
