  Smoke detector
Posted by: david8811 - 08-17-2018, 04:33 AM - Forum: Comfort as Fire Alarm - Replies (9)

Hi,
I would like to seek confirmation how to wire up a 4 wires smoke detector for my Comfort system. Based on Comfort manual, it should be wired as per Figure 2.12.
Q1. If I don’t have the EOL Relay, can I wire it according to Figure 2.11 instead?

Vocabulary Upgrade Error 15 or 16
Posted by: slychiu - 08-14-2018, 01:41 PM - Forum: Vocabulary Issues - No Replies

If the Vocabullary Upgrade process is stopped by Error 15  or 16, ie
VP0015 or VP0016
The cause has been found to be due to the keypad interupting the upgrade at the precise time to cause an error in the Vocab Upgrade
This happens in certain systems perhaps 10 to 20% of the time
The next Firmware > 7.144 should fix this
If you get this error in the meantime, try disconnecting the keypads (KA/KB will do) before doing Vocab Upgrade

  Reduce PIR sensitivity when armed
Posted by: Pharris15 - 08-08-2018, 08:42 AM - Forum: Questions on Using Comfort - Replies (3)

Hi all, I use my PIR\'s for occupancy detection during the day so they are set to be sensitive, but I need to reduce the sensitivity when armed as they occasionally trigger a random alarm which I put down to insects. I looked at the VibrationAnalyse response but I am not sure how to implement this for the PIRs when the system is armed to night or away.
Any help would be appreciated.

  Battery warning
Posted by: phil1155 - 08-07-2018, 06:01 PM - Forum: Troubles - Replies (1)

Hi Chiu
Got battery warning and battery restore when Comfort test its battery. With AC off, the battery delivers only 9v and with AC on, the voltage on the battery plugs is only at 11,6v.The two lamps ( lp51,52) are lighted, but blink onces from time to time.Is there a battery problem or a CP9000 problem?

Also think the UCM/eth is delivering wrong messages to the CPM ultra, resulting in unsollicited responses (away mode, x10 orders, gate actions).Disconnecting the UCM/eth for 3 days, there s no more of these unsollicited actions/messages. The voltage on the ucm/eth is at 13+v.

I guess it is not linked to  the battery issue and I have two different problems. What do you think? Anything I can investigate ?Thanks Philippe

  KP04A Firmware 7.008 to 7.016
Posted by: slychiu - 08-06-2018, 12:16 PM - Forum: KP06A/KP04A Firmware - Replies (1)

From Firmware 7.008, KP04A and KP06A are different, because KP04A has been extended to support the CM9001-EMS Environmental Monitoring System which has its won website https://www.cytech.biz/brochure/ems.html
KP04A is able to switch bto EMS Mode to view up to 4 sensors and their setpoints, and change the setpoints as well as enable or disable the setpoints.
KP04A can be set to Alarm Mode (normal) or EMS Mode

KP04A 7.008 (27 April 2018)

  • Supports EMS Mode for sensors and setpoints
KP04A 7.010 (6 Aug 2018)
  • Changed the behaviour of the F key. Pressing F key clears the alarm message on trhe LCD and shows the EMS mode ie Sensor values
  • The F key also behaves like in Alarm Mode, ie it ends the voice menu and is used for keypad shortcut keys 0 to 9 and *
see http://www.comfortforums.com/forum139/4912.html for KP04A functions in EMS Mode

  KP04A/KP06A Error Messages
Posted by: slychiu - 08-05-2018, 07:41 AM - Forum: KP06/KP06A/KP04A Keypads - Replies (6)

KP04A/KP06A LCD error messages

ID Conflict
This means the Keypad has an ID conflict with another Keypad in the system. Each keypad must have a unique id. eg if there are 4 keypads, they must have IDs 1,2,3,4 without any missing IDs. If any 2 Keypds have the same ID then the ID Conflict message is seen. Check the Keypad ID in settings menu and change it. See http://www.comfortforums.com/forum105/4820.html

No Bus Communications This means that the RS485 bus is not connected to the keypad. Check the connection of the KA/KB connector wiring to the Comfort KA/KB terminals

Keypad/ID not Polled
This means that the Keypad is connected to KA/KB (so there is bus communicatiomns) but the keypad ID is not polled by Comfort. This is a problem with the ID.
The keypad may have its ID set correctly, but Comfort does not know that this ID is connected in the system.
To fix this do a Scan for Modules in Comfigurator see http://www.comfortforums.com/forum128/4073.html
Check that the keypad ids are in correct sequence eg 1,2,3,4 for 4 keypads, and write Modules and settings to comfort.

Another method is just to reset the Comfort controller. Comfort will automatically detect all modules in the system and poll them. Comfort firmware must be 7.142 or above

\"Incompatible Text Format - Press *1 to Sync\"
This message means the spoken Vocabulary in Comfort is not the same as the text format in the KP04A/KP06A. This may be due to a different vocabulary/wordlist in the same language, or a different language.Press *1 at the same time on the keypad if this message is seen. A progress bar should be seen on the LCD.

If the error message remains, then there may be a problem with the Comfort voice.

Check if other keypads have the same error message if there is more than 1 keypad.
Test if the voice can be heard on the keypad by entering the user code and # on the Keypad. The voice menu \"welcome, security off...\" should be heard. if there is no voice then the voice may be corrupted. This is a problem with Comfort, not the keypad

Press the reset button on Comfort. Often this can cause the voice to recover. If not then the voice is corrupted.
Do a Vocabulary Upgrade using Comfigurator to transfer the vocabulary to Comfort.See http://www.comfortforums.com/forum76/1623.html
